In 2016 my family and I headed out on a grand adventure! We moved to Germany and although we really loved our European life we returned back to California earlier this year. In addition to my private coaching business I am also a Leadership Coach with BetterUp, a corporate coaching organization. In those roles I coach professionals at all levels, in nearly every industry, in more than thirty countries. With that, I also have a daily practice of balancing (or at least trying to) my career, marriage, role as a mother to two small children along with my own self-care. I feel alive when I’m moving and even better when I’m moving outside. Traveling and exploring new cultures is endlessly fascinating to me. But I am also happy sitting in the grass on a warm day with live music and a cold beer. I love life and do my best to soak in each experience!
I was a coach before I knew I was a coach. After a while I started to realize people would say the same things to me, ‘you’re a great listener’, ‘it’s easy to talk to you’, ‘that’s a good question, I’ve never thought of that before’. I noticed this trend around the same time I realized that my favorite days at work, my favorite conversations in life were when I was helping people think things through, dream, plan, get unstuck, move forward. Coaching is what I was born to do, and helping people is my passion and purpose in life. It is my mission to help reduce suffering in the workplace and I do that one leader at a time. Whether they lead a team or themselves I help leaders make decisions for their life and career that aligns to their values and highest vision for themselves.
I graduated from The Coaches Training Institute or CTI (which has recently rebranded to Coactive Training Institute) and have earned my Certified Professional Co-Active Coach Certification (CPCC) - the gold standard in coaching. In addition, I am Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF) which is the governing body of coaches. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts (BA) from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where I studied the decisions people have made and how that impacted the future (aka History!). In addition to that I hold a Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification which is maintained with continuing education yearly. Assessment tools are often used in coaching and I am certified and use many: Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality assessment, Strengths Finder, SkillScan, Lominger Korn Ferry 360’s assessments, Zenger Folkman 360, among others.
Thirteen years of my corporate work were spent at a global Fortune 500 company where I developed and coached all levels of leaders to achieve their goals. Most recently I was responsible for Internal Coaching and Leadership Development, prior to that I served in a variety of HR roles. In that time I built a reputation as a valued thought partner who operates with the highest integrity. I've learned a lot about leadership and business working for a multi-national brand, but that isn't where I started. Originally, I spent five years working with an e-commerce start-up building their training department from the ground up. As the first person in my family to go to college I’ve worked hard to reach my goals and learn every step of the way. I love to help others do the same.
